I am embarrassed to admit that July got away from me so fast. On a personal note, I’ve been moving my college aged kids and my own office, and it threw me off my timing. As a result, blog posts lapsed.
However, my dedication to supporting socially conscious activities that help improve our world is just as active, and Socially Conscious Investing online radio has, indeed, continued with a number of fascinating episodes. Here’s a recap:
- Channel Island Outfitters is a business that has successfully addressed the recreation needs of a busy society with developing a green business that saves resources while educating people about our parks, oceans and mountains. Our interview with Garrett Ritter Kababik was fun and informative as to why leisure must remain a part of our daily lives and can be successfully integrated with profit.
-
Women’s Economic Ventures addresses the importance of women having resources for success. Our interview with Marsha Bailey, founder of WEV, was very eye-opening to the current resources and programs available to women entrepreneurs and business owners as well as for men. Small business has been the at the foundation of the United States vision for economic and societal success. WEV supports the success of small business.
-
Friendship Tours World Travel is an incredible business founded by Alethea Paradis with the mission of exposing youth to countries having experience war and terror, some having been at war with the USA. Our interview, Youth Travel in War Torn Countries for Peace, is inspiring through each minute, down to her final sharing of the Cuban Missile Crisis and how it inspired the founding of Friendship Tours World Travel.
- The end of July, we enjoyed Dr. Andrea Neal, founder and Executive Director for Blue Ocean Sciences. Dr. “Dre,” as she enjoys being called, was a wealth of information for our interview on our world’s oceans and how earthquakes, tsunamis, plastics and more are changing the critical chemical balance within the ocean.
